Ukrainian paratroopers capture 6 Russians during their first battle: Details
In their first battle, Ukrainian paratroopers with the сall-signs Oliver and Jack captured 6 Russian invaders. They noted that when they were leading the prisoners away, a Russian drone flew up to them and tried to kill their own soldiers, according to the 71st separate ranger brigade of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"They (the Russians - ed.) were brave as long as they thought I was the only one there. Because they could only hear me because I was communicating with our guys on the radio. And there were two of us,“ says a Ukrainian defender with the call sign Jack.
According to the Ukrainian military, a Russian MT-LB approached their positions, but they managed to stop it with a grenade launcher, and then one Russian occupant fell out of the combat vehicle head down.
After that, the 2 Ukrainian paratroopers repelled the Russian attack for about 3 hours with only one assault rifle, as the other was damaged by shrapnel during the battle.
"We drove them (the Russians - ed.) into the room and held them there. I neutralized one of the Russian troops and wounded him. Later, the wounded Rsuuain invader died,“ says the Ukrainian fighter with the call sign Jack.
Ukrainian soldiers said that at some point the Russian occupiers began to persuade them to stop resisting, claiming that it was all just politics. However, when the Russians realized that it was all in vain, they turned to insults and intimidation.
“They started throwing away their weapons when they realized they had no chance... Then the last attack aircraft came down and we started tying them up and packing them away,” the Ukrainian military says.
They add that when they were already taking the Russian occupiers prisoner, a Russian drone flew up to them and tried to drop them on their own. The Russians wanted to kill their own men so that they would not be taken prisoner.
Recently, the soldiers of the Third Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully cleared a landing and captured a whole group of Russian occupiers. The events took place in the Kharkiv region.
Soldiers of the 79th separate airborne assault brigade of the Tavria Brigade also captured 14 Russian soldiers during a successful assault on a Russian position. During this operation, Russian occupiers gave up the fight.
