As of 6:00 a.m. on October 15 (Kyiv time), Russia has increased the number of vessels in the Black Sea. Specifically, military sources reported three vessels, two of which are missile carriers capable of launching a total of up to eight Kalibr missiles, according to the morning report of the Ukrainian Navy

No vessels were present in the Sea of Azov today, as in previous days. Meanwhile, three vessels were observed in the Mediterranean Sea, two of which are capable of carrying Kalibr cruise missiles with a total launch capacity of up to twelve missiles.

According to the Ukrainian Navy, over the past day, in the interest of Russia, the following vessels passed through the Kerch Strait:

  • to the Black Sea: 5 vessels, 2 of which continued toward the Bosporus Strait;
  • to the Sea of Azov: 5 vessels, 1 of which were coming from the Bosporus Strait.

Military officials emphasized that Russia continues to violate the 1974 International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) by disabling Automatic Identification Systems (AIS).

It is worth noting that yesterday, Dmytro Pletenchuk, the spokesperson of the Ukrainian Navy, stated during a televised marathon that the Russian fleet no longer has the ability to influence the course of hostilities in Ukraine.

At the beginning of October, he also mentioned that storms typical of autumn create significant obstacles for missile carriers attempting to reach the open sea.
