This morning, January 25, two enemy warships were spotted in the Black Sea, deployed by Russia for combat duty. Among them is a carrier of Kalibr-type cruise missiles, reports the Ukrainian Navy.

The military clarified that the Russian missile carrier has a total salvo capacity of up to four Kalibr missiles.

Additionally, the Ukrainian Navy reported that there are no Russian ships in the Sea of Azov.

Regarding the Mediterranean Sea, six Russian warships were observed in the morning, two of which are Kalibr carriers with a total salvo capacity of up to 22 missiles.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces reported that within one day, the following vessels passed through the Kerch Strait in the interests of Russia:

  • to the Black Sea -12 ships, 6 of which continued towards the Bosphorus Strait;
  • to the Sea of Azov - 12 ships, 6 of which came from the Bosphorus Strait.

"Russia continues to violate the 1974 International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) by turning off automatic identification systems," the Ukrainian Navy has traditionally stated.

In mid-January, Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk stated that Russian missile carriers, which have been in the Mediterranean Sea for years, are currently not showing signs of active use.

Pletenchuk also explained earlier how the recent downing of enemy helicopters by Ukrainian drones from the GUR Magura unit had affected the tactics of Russian occupiers in the Black Sea.
