Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba discussed with Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel the issue of enhancing security in the Black Sea region, according to the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry.

"Meaningful meeting with my Bulgarian counterpart Mariya Gabriel on ways to further develop our bilateral cooperation. I asked Maria to convey our gratitude to the Bulgarian parliament for taking decisions in support of Ukraine," said Kuleba.

He also noted that the Ukrainian-Bulgarian partnership, which is important for maintaining regional stability and enhancing security in the Black Sea, was discussed. After all, this can directly impact peace in Europe.

Successes of Ukraine in the Black Sea

In November of last year, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia was gradually losing control of the Black Sea and retreating to the eastern part of the waters.

This was amid a series of successful strikes by Ukrainian defenders, which destroyed Russian Black Sea Fleet ships and the Black Sea Fleet headquarters in Sevastopol.

Sea Baby surface drones of the Security Service of Ukraine were used for the attacks. Zelenskyy noted that the creation of the world's first fleet of maritime drones has led to a situation where Russia cannot use the Black Sea as a launching pad.
