Russian troops have moved to defense in the Kharkiv sector. New forces are being deployed for reinforcement, reports the Kharkiv operational and tactical group.

It is reported that the Russians are sending Wagner militants and former prisoners to reinforce them.

According to Kyrylo Duchko, staff sergeant of the public relations service of the 13th operational brigade “Khartia” (National Guard), the Russians are regrouping.

“The Russian units that have been facing us since May are incapacitated. And they are being reinforced by Wagner and former prisoners. We see regrouping and reinforcements. We understand all the risks, weigh the pros and cons, and are ready to fight back at any moment,” he said.

Background

As it became known in August, the 3rd Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted counteroffensive actions in the Kharkiv region. As a result, they managed to advance over an area of almost 2 square kilometers.

At that time, the brigade reported taking control of the Russians' battalion defense area, platoon, and company strongholds. The breakthrough was made despite the enemy's 2.5:1 numerical superiority in manpower and equipment. Thanks to this success, the threat from the direction of Makiivka, Luhansk region, was averted.

As for the northern section, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukrainian forces have recently advanced to Heroiv Chornobylia Street in central Vovchansk, southwest of the aggregate plant. As of today, Russian troops are still operating at the plant.

According to the General Staff, the enemy has intensified its activities in the Lyman sector of the Donetsk region. In terms of the number of clashes, the situation here is on par with what is happening near Pokrovsk and Kurakhove.
