Fighting in the area of Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region, continues. The international legion of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine is destroying the Russian troops, in particular, with a Browning M2 machine gun, according to the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.
"Fighters of the International Legion of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine are destroying the Russian troops near Chasiv Yar using a large-caliber Browning M2 machine gun," the statement says.
Browning M2 machine gun
The Browning M2 machine gun is a large-caliber machine gun developed at the end of World War I by John Browning. This machine gun is effective against infantry, unarmored, and lightly armored vehicles, boats, and aircraft at low altitudes.
Various modifications of this machine gun have been widely used by the US Army from the 1920s to the present day, and it was used during World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam, Iraq, and other wars. This machine gun remains in service with many NATO countries and several other countries. It was widely used in US aviation during World War II (P-40, P-47, P-51).
Situation near Chasiv Yar
Russians are constantly storming the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with various types of weapons in the Chaiv Yar area of the Donetsk region. In particular, the Russian occupiers are attacking Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region with thermobaric munitions.
On June 11, the Ukrainian Armed Forces clarified that the Russian occupiers had not captured the village of Ivanivske and had not advanced deeper into the town of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region. These settlements are controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the same time, on June 12, UK intelligence said that Russia may have achieved a limited breakthrough in the eastern suburbs of Chasiv Yar.
