On the morning of May 30, two powerful explosions occurred in the Russian city of Vladivostok near the Desantnaya (Landing) Bay. RBC-Ukraine's sources confirmed that these were the result of a successful operation by Ukraine's Defense Intelligence (HUR).

According to reports, at least two explosions took place in the area where the 47th Separate Air Assault Battalion of the 155th Separate Guards Marine Brigade (military unit 30926) is stationed — one near the checkpoint, and the other at the location of the personnel and command of the unit.

"Personnel, military and special equipment were hit," the sources said.

What’s happening in Vladivostok after the explosions

Residents report that at least ten ambulances and evacuation helicopters arrived at the scene. Damaged equipment is being removed from the military base using military URAL trucks.

Meanwhile, regional authorities predictably claimed the incident was caused by the explosion of two gas cylinders and that no one was injured.

A counter-terrorism operation regime has been declared in Vladivostok. The area around the military unit has been sealed off. The road between Shamora Bay and the village of Shchitovaya has been closed.

What is known about Russia's 155th Brigade and Desantnaya Bay

Russian 155th Marine Brigade has been actively involved in combat operations against Ukraine. Its participation has been documented in battles in Mariupol, Vuhledar, and the Kursk region.

It’s worth noting that, according to Radio Liberty, a training ground of the Pacific Fleet's marines, who are involved in the war against Ukraine, may be located in Desantnaya Bay. In the late 2010s, local sources reported that training exercises were conducted there. Currently, the area belongs to the Russian military.

HUR special operations

Ukrainian intelligence regularly carries out special operations on Russian territory. For instance, on May 24, Ukrainian forces conducted a successful operation against a Russian military train in the temporarily occupied part of Zaporizhzhia region.

Additionally, a series of explosions involving FPV drone goggles occurred among Russian occupiers during their use. These operations were carried out by specialists from Ukraine's Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense.
