Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskii once again visited military units and subdivisions holding defense in the Bakhmut sector. Some important decisions were made, according to the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Decisions made

The commander listened to the brigade commanders on the current situation, assessed the effectiveness of fire, and considered new ways to improve the firepower of our troops.

"He also discussed with the commanders of units and subdivisions the probable tactics of the enemy and options for further development of combat operations. After that, they jointly planned scenarios to repel the aggressor and prevent its advance," the statement says.

In addition, based on the results of work in the Bakhmut direction, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskii made several decisions. In particular, to focus main efforts on the threatened areas and to use firepower maneuvers.

Situation in Bakhmut direction

The situation in the Bakhmut direction is tense. The enemy is trying to break through the defense of Ukrainian forces in the area of Chasiv Yar and is resorting to localized actions by small assault groups under the cover of drones and artillery. It is widely using kamikaze drones and electronic warfare.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of the morning of February 8, a total of 92 combat clashes occurred on the frontline in Ukraine over the day. The enemy is actively storming Avdiivka and trying to capture some other settlements in the Donetsk region.

According to the Institute for War Studies, positional combat actions continue along the Kupiansk-Svatovo-Kremenna line, near Bakhmut, in the west of the Zaporizhzhia region, near Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region and Krynky in the Kherson region. Russian invaders are trying to advance near Avdiivka.
