Russia has failed to achieve any of its objectives more than four years into its full-scale invasion and has lost 1.3 million men, while its advance has come to a complete halt, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi reports.

Real outcomes of Russian aggression

According to the spokesperson, Kremlin claims about being close to victory contradict the actual situation on the battlefield. Moscow launched its war expecting a quick success, but after more than four years of fighting, it has suffered massive losses.

"POV: you sound as if you're about to win the war (for the fifth year already). REAL: you started an aggressive war trying to win fast; achieved no goals after losing 1,3 million men in over 4 years," Tykhyi said.

Fighting shifting onto Russian territory

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson added that current Russian attempts to advance have been completely blocked by Ukrainian forces.

Moreover, the war is increasingly returning directly to the Russian Federation.

"Your slow advances stall; the war returns to your territory," he concluded.

Putin's statements, falling Kremlin approval ratings

Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the United Russia party congress, calling the current period fateful for the country.

During his speech, he claimed the West is allegedly trying to eliminate Russia and also described Russian troops fighting against Ukraine as the country's new true elite.

These statements come amid serious domestic challenges in Russia. In June, public trust in Putin fell to its lowest level since the start of the full-scale invasion, dropping to 69%. His approval rating declined sharply following the largest air attack on Moscow.

In addition, members of Russia's State Duma have publicly demanded that Putin present a clear plan for ending the war against Ukraine.
