Ukrainian forces strike two major oil refineries deep in Russia overnight

On the night of September 13, Ukraine's Defense Forces struck two Russian oil refineries in Krasnodar Krai and Tatarstan. Fires were reported at the facilities, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
One of the targets was the Slavyansky oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, Krasnodar Krai, Russia.
A fire was reported at the facility following the strike.
The Slavyansky refinery is one of the largest independent oil refineries in southern Russia. The facility can process about 5.2 million tons of oil per year.
The refinery produces motor gasoline, oil, fuel oil, vacuum gas oil and jet fuel. According to the General Staff, the facility is also involved in meeting the needs of Russian troops.
Taneco comes under attack
The second oil refinery struck by Ukrainian forces was the Taneco refinery in Nizhnekamsk, Republic of Tatarstan.
A fire was reported at one of the tanks at the refinery.
Thus, two Russian oil industry facilities located hundreds of kilometers from Ukraine were hit in a single night.
In addition to the refineries, Ukraine's Defense Forces struck a site in Millerovo, Rostov region, Russia, where the enemy stores, prepares and launches attack drones.
The General Staff separately reported the results of an analysis of additional data on the previous attack.
In particular, it was established that on September 11, the ELOU-AVT-6 primary oil refining unit at the Saratov oil refinery in Saratov was damaged. Part of the main oil pipeline was also damaged.
The General Staff emphasized that Ukraine's Defense Forces continue to strike key military targets of the enemy.
We reported that on September 12, Ukrainian drones attacked the Tolyattikauchuk plant in Russia's Samara region, located approximately 880 km from Ukraine. A fire broke out at the facility following the strike.
The day before, on September 11, Ukrainian forces also struck the Snizhne Machine-Building Plant in occupied Donetsk region, which produces components for gas turbine engines and is used by Russia to equip military aircraft engines.
