Ukrainian forces seize initiative with partial success on southern front
Ukrainian military achieves partial success on the Berdiansk south front. The initiative is on the Ukrainian side, as Spokesman for the Joint Press Center of the Tavria Defense Forces Valerii Shershen said to Ukrainian TV.
He emphasized that the Ukrainian forces on the Berdiansk front are advancing, systematically pushing out the enemy from positions. There has been partial success along the front line in this direction.
"We are hitting the enemy, engaging in counter-battery combat, and demining. Wisdom says that sappers move slowly, but they should not be rushed. The enemy is putting up fierce resistance, but we are pressing on and destroying the Russian combat potential," the spokesperson said.
According to him, in the past 24 hours in the Tavria direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated 68 Russian occupiers, while 156 others were wounded, and four were captured. Ukrainian troops destroyed 22 units of Russian weaponry during the day.
Shershen added that heavy fighting continues, and the occupiers are retaliating, but the initiative is on Ukraine's side.
"The occupiers are suffering tremendous losses, and the initiative is entirely on our side. The Russians are reinforcing with live forces and old Soviet equipment," the spokesperson added.
