Ukrainian forces repell Russian assault in Kharkiv region and eliminate 70 invaders

Ukrainian soldiers from the 13th Khartiia Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine repelled a Russian assault in the Kharkiv region. About 70 Russians paid with their lives for attempting to attack the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Russian troops attempted to attack Ukrainian Defense Forces positions in the Lypetsk direction. The assault was repelled, and approximately 70 Russian troops were eliminated.
In general, the Russians tried to storm positions in the area of responsibility of the 13th Brigade north of Kharkiv throughout the week, but all assaults were repelled. Khartiia showed a video of combat operations against Russian troops.
"Thanks to the coordinated interaction of the Khartiia's infantrymen, drone operators, artillerymen, and other units, the attempt was unsuccessful. We continue to defend the Kharkiv region and keep Kharkiv under lock and key," the statement says.

Earlier, Khartiia reported that the Ukrainian military had established control over the Kupiansk City Council building. The operation took place as part of the unblocking of the city under the leadership of the command of the 2nd Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine.
On December 12, 2025, Russian troops found themselves surrounded in Kupiansk, which, according to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, had allegedly already been captured twice. The command of the 2nd Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine announced a successful counterattack by the Ukrainian Defense Forces near Kupiansk.
Earlier, Viktor Trehubov, head of communications for the Joint Forces Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that Russian troops were increasing pressure in the Kupiansk area, but all attempts to break through directly to the city were unsuccessful. According to him, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are in complete control of the situation and are effectively thwarting Russia's infiltration efforts.
