Ukrainian forces launch new strikes on Russia, hitting oil refinery and seaport

On the night of December 5, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Syzran oil refinery in the Samara Region and the infrastructure of the seaport in the Krasnodar Krai of Russia, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“As part of efforts to reduce the military and economic potential of the Russian aggressor, on the night of December 5, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the infrastructure of the Temryuk seaport (Temryuk, Krasnodar Krai, Russian Federation),” the report said.
This port, in particular, handles the shipment of general, liquid (liquefied natural gas and chemical cargoes), bulk, and bulk cargoes. It is involved in supplying the Russian army.
A hit on the territory of the facility was recorded, followed by a fire. The extent of the damage is being clarified.
The Syzran oil refinery in the Samara region of Russia was also hit last night.
The annual processing capacity of this refinery is 7 to 8.9 million tons of oil per year. It is also involved in supplying the Russian armed forces.
Drones were recorded hitting the plant's territory, causing a fire. According to preliminary information, one of the refinery's installations was hit.
The results of the recent attack on the Saratov refinery have also been confirmed: the ELOU-AVT-6 primary oil purification installation was damaged.
As of early December 2025, the plant has completely suspended primary processing of crude oil and is operating at less than 50% of its design capacity, with key installations completely shut down.
Attacks on Russian oil depots and refineries
On the night of December 3, drones attacked oil depots near Voronezh and in the Tambov region of Russia. The strikes caused fires.
In the Krasnodar region of Russia, drones attacked the Slavyansk oil refinery on the night of November 30.
Also, on the night of November 29, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Afipsky oil refinery, an aircraft repair plant, and a marine oil terminal on Russian territory.
On the night of November 28, the Defense Forces struck an oil refinery in the Saratov region of Russia, a UAV storage facility at the Saky airfield, and other Russian facilities.
And on the night of November 27, a series of explosions rocked Novokuybyshevsk in the Samara region of Russia, with unknown drones attacking the city. The target of the attack was an oil refinery.
On November 25, Ukrainian drones and missiles struck a number of strategic enterprises and enemy targets in Russia. Aircraft and oil refineries were hit.
