Ukrainian forces drive Russian troops out of their positions in Kupiansk: Prisoners taken

Earlier, National Guard Commander Oleksandr Pivnenko said that Ukrainian forces controlled the central part of Kupiansk. According to him, units of the Khartiia brigade continue to clear the city of the Russian troops, while Russian troops are actively using FPV drones.

At the same time, Viktor Trehubov reported that several dozen Russians are still in the city, and the Russian statements about the alleged capture of Kupiansk are not true. According to him, the complete clearing of sabotage groups may take some time.

Trehubov specified that the main Russian forces are concentrated in one of the city's neighborhoods.

"Most of the Russian troops are in the city center, in a neighborhood of high-rise buildings. The task is to complete its clearance, if possible, without losses among Ukrainian defenders," he said.

In addition, the Russian troops have increased pressure on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the eastern bank of the Oskil River, but the Ukrainian military is maintaining control of the situation. Earlier, as part of the operation to unblock the city, the Ukrainian defenders also established control over the building of the Kupiansk City Council.
