The Joint Forces group (UOS) has denied Russian propaganda claims of alleged control over Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region, according to the Joint Forces group’s Telegram channel.

The Joint Forces group drew attention to the Telegram channel of Russia’s Ministry of Defense, which has been posting videos for several days showing people in balaclavas claiming an "offensive" from the city.

"We should note that Russian forces in the city control little more than the basements around them, yet they can 'advance' in any direction — just like anyone trapped in an encirclement. The difference is that this offensive is guaranteed to end in their destruction," the UOC stated.

They also sarcastically commented on the denial tactics used by Russian propagandists, noting that it would be easier to illustrate them graphically than to take them seriously.

Situation near Kupiansk

The situation in the Kupiansk area remains one of the most tense in eastern Ukraine. Ukrainian forces are regaining control over positions and are engaged in fierce fighting in and around the city, while Russian troops are trying to hold their ground. Conditions in this direction change almost daily.

Earlier, the head of communications for the Joint Forces group, Viktor Trehubov, noted that a full clearance of Kupiansk could take several more weeks, as isolated pockets of Russian forces remain in the city.

At the same time, Ukrainian defenders have already liberated the Yuvileinyi residential area from Russian troops.
