Ukrainian forces disrupt rotation and preparation of Russian assault near Pokrovsk

In the Pokrovsk area of Donetsk region, Ukrainian defenders disrupted the Russian invaders' preparations for an assault, according to the 25th Separate Airborne Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This refers to the Shakhtarskyi microdistrict, where intelligence detected the Russians' rotation and concentration of forces for an offensive.
After receiving confirmed data on Russian positions, Ukrainian paratroopers used Hrad rocket artillery. A volley of ten shells covered the area where Russian forces were concentrated.
As a result of the Russian strike, light equipment was destroyed, and Russian manpower was hit. According to available information, Russia lost at least 6 troops. Due to the loss of resources, Russians were forced to cease active operations in this area.
Ukrainian military notes that this is just one of the episodes of daily Ukrainian combat operations by Ukrainian units in the Pokrovsk direction.
Fighting for Pokrovsk
The Pokrovsk direction remains the most challenging section of the front in terms of the intensity of combat operations. Russian troops are trying to encircle Pokrovsk from several directions and are transferring additional units there.
According to information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on January 11, 46 Russian assaults were recorded in this section. Ukrainian Airborne Assault Forces note that Russia has concentrated its main forces in the south of the city, although small groups are operating throughout the agglomeration. Russians are attacking around the clock and suffering significant losses.
At the same time, according to Ukraine's General Staff spokesperson Major Andrii Kovalov, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold the northern part of Pokrovsk along the railway line. Russian attempts to break through there with assault groups are being successfully thwarted by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Russian occupiers have intensified their attempts to infiltrate the northern part of Pokrovsk, above the railway, with assault groups. However, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are stopping Russian efforts.
