Ukraine’s Defense Forces successfully struck a Russian position in the central part of Pokrovsk that was being used for aerial reconnaissance and drone launches, according to the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Details of the strike

According to the military, Ukraine’s Defense Forces recently carried out a precise airstrike on the facility in the city center.

Russian soldiers had established a launch site for Molniya attack drones there, as well as a base for an aerial reconnaissance unit.

"The strike on the facility disrupted the operations of enemy drone units in the area and reduced the enemy’s reconnaissance and strike capabilities," the 7th Rapid Response Corps said.

Russia's tactics in Pokrovsk

Russia continues trying to build up forces and equipment in Pokrovsk in an effort to support further offensive operations in the area of responsibility of the Air Assault Forces.

One of the Russian military’s priorities remains expanding its network of drone control sites in the city.

To achieve this, the Russian army is cynically exploiting civilian infrastructure, including residential areas and apartment buildings, concrete shelters, basements, and building entrances.

Ukrainian troops emphasize that they are systematically identifying and destroying such concealed enemy positions.

Situation in the Pokrovsk direction

The situation around Pokrovsk has remained extremely tense due to constant pressure from Russian forces. Recently, Ukrainian troops refuted claims by DeepState analysts that the city had been completely occupied.

The 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces stressed that the defensive operation in Pokrovsk is ongoing and that Ukrainian units continue to hold their positions on the city’s northern outskirts.

To counter enemy assaults more effectively, the Defense Forces command is bringing in additional technological resources. In particular, the 7th Air Assault Corps has joined efforts with the well-known 414th Separate Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces, known as Madyar’s Birds, and the special unit Lasar’s Group.

The sides agreed to strengthen counter-battery operations and aerial reconnaissance in the Pokrovsk urban area. The joint work of UAV crews is focused on detecting and destroying enemy artillery, as well as drone launch sites that Russian forces are attempting to concentrate in support of their offensive operations.
