DeepState says Pokrovsk is occupied — Ukrainian military reveals what is happening in city

DeepState co-founder Roman Pohorilyi said that Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad are fully occupied. The situation was commented on by the 7th Rapid Response Corps of Ukraine’s Air Assault Forces, which is responsible for the defense of the cities, according to Hromadske.

What DeepState says

Roman Pohorilyi believes holding Pokrovsk is pointless and comes at a very high human cost. In his opinion, the military command is making a mistake by insisting on defending the city at any cost.

He recalled the failed attempt by the 425th Battalion to enter the city — an operation that cost lives and equipment but gave no results.

"Let’s save people’s lives and work differently. For some reason, the top command believes that it is wrong. They think Pokrovsk must be held to the very end because of some information war. But the actions show otherwise," Pohorilyi said.

What the military says

The 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces rejected claims about the city’s full occupation. Senior communications officer Lieutenant Serhii Lefter confirmed that the defensive operation in Pokrovsk is ongoing and that Ukrainian units continue to hold positions on the northern outskirts of the city.

An officer from the 25th Airborne Brigade added that troops remain in contact, continue to pass information on enemy movements, and are carrying out fire missions.

"There are real positions, there are real people there. We see them and supply them with food," he said.

The battle for Pokrovsk has been ongoing for more than a year, with the city becoming one of the hottest sectors on the Donetsk front. Russia is trying to capture it as a key logistics hub through which major supply routes for Ukrainian forces in the region pass.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck a Russian logistics hub near Selydove, about 20 kilometers from Pokrovsk.
