The Special Operations Forces reported Tuesday, June 23, that the railway bridge across the North Crimean Canal in Crimea had been destroyed.
“Sorry, but we have an official urgent update: The railway bridge across the North Crimean Canal in Crimea no longer exists,” the statement reads.
The Special Operations Forces emphasized that “the first one's gone.”
On June 23, units of the Defense Intelligence carried out an operation in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region. The strike targeted trucks used to supply Russian troops via the land corridor to Crimea.
Moreover, rolling blackouts were introduced on the occupied peninsula after accidents on the power grids. Residents of several cities and districts were left without electricity and water.
Explosions were also heard in various parts of Crimea on the night of June 21. Traffic across the Crimean Bridge was temporarily suspended. Near the seaport, eyewitnesses reported a large-scale fire, with thick black smoke rising from the site.
Later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy provided details of the nighttime operation. According to him, Ukrainian forces struck targets on both sides of the Crimean Bridge. These targets are located about 300 kilometers from the front line.
