Ukrainian forces advance in Sumy region, ISW reports

Ukraine's Defense Forces have managed to advance north of the city of Sumy, according to a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
According to analysts, Ukrainian forces have made advances north of Korchakivka near Sumy.
Against the backdrop of recent developments, Russian sources claim that Russian forces have allegedly advanced in the northern Sumy region, but there is no evidence to support these claims.
In the northern Kharkiv region, Russian forces continued offensive operations on September 29-30 but made no confirmed gains. Ukrainian forces are known to have carried out successful counterattacks in this area.
A similar situation was observed in the Kupiansk direction, where Russian forces were also unable to advance due to resistance from Ukraine's Defense Forces.
At the same time, Ukrainian forces continued to strike Russian military facilities in the occupied Luhansk region. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on September 30, Ukrainian forces struck a Russian command and observation post in Lysychansk, as well as a military repair base in Starobilsk.
On September 29-30, Russian forces also conducted offensive operations in the Lyman area, but no confirmed advances were recorded. Ukrainian forces continued to conduct counterattacks in this area.
Russian sources also continue to spread false claims about the successes of their forces in the Lyman direction, while failing to acknowledge the gains made by Ukraine's Defense Forces as part of Operation Vivaldi.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, on September 29-30, Russian forces focused their offensive operations near Kostiantynivka and southwest of the city, and also moved toward Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka. At the same time, no confirmed advances by Russian forces were recorded. Ukrainian forces are known to have conducted counterattacks north and northwest of Kostiantynivka.
In addition, Ukrainian forces continued to carry out medium-range strikes against Russian military facilities in the occupied Donetsk region.
It was recently reported that Ukraine's Defense Forces had made gains in Donbas and Zaporizhzhia.
