Ukrainian forces advance in several regions — ISW

Over the past few days, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have advanced in the Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Furthermore, they have thwarted several Russian offensive operations, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Kharkiv region
Ukrainian forces have recently advanced or continued to hold positions in the north of the Kharkiv region. According to information from one of the Ukrainian units operating in the area, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled Russian attacks near Odradne, located east of Kharkiv. This may indicate that the town remains under Ukrainian control, despite Russian claims that it has been captured.
Ukrainian forces also continue to strike Russian military targets in the occupied part of the region.
Meanwhile, Russian troops continued offensive operations in the Kupiansk sector. However, according to the ISW's assessment, there is no confirmation of their advance.
In the Borova sector on September 3 and 4, the Russian military also conducted limited offensive operations but were unsuccessful. Ukrainian forces carried out successful counterattacks. According to Russian military bloggers, the area between Ridkodub and Nove, southeast of Borova, remains contested territory where fighting continues.
Donetsk region
Ukrainian forces have recently advanced east of Sloviansk. This is taking place amid attempts by the Russian army to establish control over tactical high ground in the area, which could create more favorable conditions for a further offensive on Sloviansk.
Geolocated video footage released on September 3 indicates a possible advance by Ukrainian forces. The footage shows Russian forces attacking Ukrainian positions in the northwestern part of Rai-Oleksandrivka, located east of Sloviansk.
Meanwhile, on September 4, a Russian military blogger claimed that Nykonorivka, southeast of Sloviansk, had allegedly been captured. There is no confirmation of this information.
On the Kostiantynivka-Druzhkivka front, Russian troops continued their offensive on September 3 and 4 but were unable to advance. Ukrainian forces are holding positions that hinder the Russian army's attempts to advance toward Kostiantynivka and into the city itself.
Russian troops also continued their offensive on the Pokrovsk sector, but achieved no confirmed successes on September 3 and 4.
Dnipropetrovsk region
Ukrainian troops recently made advances toward Novopavlivka. According to geolocated imagery published on September 3, the Ukrainian Defense Forces advanced west of Kotliarivka, located slightly east of Novopavlivka.
Zaporizhzhia region
On September 3 and 4, Russian troops continued offensive operations in the Huliaipole sector, as well as in the western part of Zaporizhzhia region. At the same time, no confirmed instances of Russian forces advancing in these areas have been recorded.
Recently, Khartiia fighters routed the Russian troops near Kupiansk.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Defense Forces refuted a Russian claim that they had captured two villages in the Sumy region.
