The National Guard of Ukraine destroyed Russia's latest Vityaz air defense system. It is designed to protect against aircraft, ballistic missiles, and drones.

"The National Guard in Kherson region destroyed a Russian Vityaz air defense system," says Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.

What is known about this air defense system?

According to Klymenko, this is the latest Russian short- and medium-range air defense system designed for point defense against aircraft, ballistic missiles, drones, and precision attacks.

The cost of the launcher alone for the export of this system is 135 million dollars. This system could likely become the most expensive target destroyed by drones.

Russian losses in the South

According to the Interior Minister, in total, over the past few days, UAV operators have destroyed military units of the National Guard of Ukraine in this area:

  • 8 units of passenger automobile transport for the Russian troops;
  • 1 military cargo vehicle;
  • 1 new generation medium-range air defense missile system S-350 Vityaz;
  • 1 automated military anti-aircraft missile system OSA 10;
  • 3 electronic warfare antennas.

In addition, according to the Southern Defense Forces, the enemy suffered the following losses over the past day: 47 occupants, 2 tanks, 3 infantry fighting vehicles, several UAVs, one Grad, 6 guns, one boat, etc.

Russia's losses in the war in Ukraine as of Wednesday morning, December 6, amounted to 1,270 occupants per day, bringing the total number of Russian army losses since the beginning of the invasion to 335,110. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 13 tanks, 51 UAVs, and 40 armored personnel carriers. In particular, in the Tauride sector, the Armed Forces managed to eliminate 520 occupants and the Zhytel electronic warfare system.
