Poland deported a Ukrainian citizen today who had threatened to commit arson in response to the Polish president's veto, reports Poland's Minister of Internal Affairs, Marcin Kierwiński.

The minister wrote that the Ukrainian citizen who had threatened to commit arson in videos posted online was forcibly taken and deported to Ukraine by border service officers.

Kierwiński also shared a video showing the handover of the Ukrainian citizen to Ukrainian border guards.

The man was initially detained on August 29 after posting a video on TikTok.

Navrocki veto and Ukrainian deportations

On August 25, Polish President Karol Navrocki vetoed a bill passed by the Sejm that would have provided social support for Ukrainian citizens. He stated that the 800+ program and free medical services should be available only to Ukrainians who are officially employed in Poland.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk told a Cabinet meeting that he would not confront the president. He also said the government is preparing an alternative bill on aid.

Previously, RBC-Ukraine reported that 15 Ukrainians had been forcibly expelled from Poland. According to the border service, all of them allegedly posed a threat to public order.
