Ukrainian defense forces continue to replenish the exchange fund. This time, Ukrainian troops captured 21 Russian soldiers in the Donetsk region, according to the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine, Azov.
Ukrainian troops presented 21 Russians taken prisoner in the Dobropillia and Kostiantynivka directions.
"Some surrendered voluntarily, while others had to be forced to lay down their arms. But for them, this is the best outcome," the post reads.
The replenishment of the exchange fund was carried out thanks to the actions of the 12th Special Purpose Brigade Azov, the 14th Operational Brigade Chervona Kalyna, the 4th Operational Brigade Rubezh, the Air Assault Forces, and Ukrainian assault units.
"Every enemy taken prisoner brings us closer to the return of our comrades from captivity," Ukrainian defenders emphasized.
Ukrainian forces are capturing enemy troops
Previously, a Ukrainian soldier known by the call sign Pain captured a Russian soldier with the help of an FPV drone. The drone guided the Russian soldier directly to Ukrainian positions, where he was detained.
Earlier, paratroopers captured ten Russian servicemen in the Kursk direction. The conditions in the units on Russian territory were so inhumane that they surrendered voluntarily to Ukrainian troops.
Additionally, Ukrainian Special Operations Forces conducted a surprise raid on Russian rear positions, capturing six more enemy soldiers.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that since the start of the full-scale war, 5,857 Ukrainians have been returned home, with another 555 released outside of formal exchange procedures.
