Ukraine's counteroffensive is an integral part of the country's defense. Only retaliatory strikes will force the Kremlin to the negotiating table, states Republican Congressman Kevin Cramer at a briefing with journalists.

According to the US politician, counteroffensive actions must be an inseparable part of Ukraine's overall defense strategy.

Cramer emphasized that he firmly believed a counteroffensive had to be part of the overall action plan, adding that taking the fight to the adversary’s territory was also part of defense.

He added that the US and its allies certainly do not blame Ukraine for such countermeasures.

The congressman emphasized that the strategy of Russian leader Vladimir Putin is the de facto capitulation of Ukraine, rather than the achievement of a just peace. Therefore, defenders must be provided with more weapons to operate effectively.

The congressman concluded that they had to be capable of delivering retaliatory strikes and taking the fight to the adversary’s territory. Otherwise, he argued, there would be no incentive for the adversary to sit down at the negotiating table.

The Active Actions Special Unit Artan of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine summarized the operational results of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) during the summer 2026 campaign.

During this period, the robotic systems covered approximately 4,258 kilometers, carrying out missions in the most intense combat zones.

Thanks to the UGVs, special operations forces successfully evacuated 45 wounded service members from under enemy fire, in addition to transporting prisoners of war and delivering over 41 tons of critical cargo to the front line.

The commander of Artan, Colonel Viktor "Titan" Torkotiuk, emphasized that the use of ground robots significantly minimizes the risks to personnel during complex logistical and evacuation operations.
