Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief on Independence Day: Army is the best guarantor of freedom

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, addressed Ukrainians on Independence Day, August 24. He noted that the best guarantor of independence is the army, according to Syrskyi.
The Commander-in-Chief noted that on the thirty-fourth anniversary of the restoration of independence, Ukrainians celebrate in battle with the age-old enemy.
"We have already been fighting for our freedom for twelve years. For the fourth year, we have been repelling the full-scale invasion. The Ukrainian people will never submit and will not give up their independence," he emphasized.
Syrskyi added that Ukrainians continue the great work of heroes who gained independent Ukraine with sweat and blood. As the Commander-in-Chief noted, history proves that independence is the cause of the strong; it is not given, but fought for and affirmed.
The Commander-in-Chief emphasized that true independence is impossible without a strong and modern army.
"For the right of the people to be free, our army pays the highest price. We remember every fallen," he noted.
Syrskyi thanked the warriors and everyone who wins freedom with weapons in hand and destroys the enemy, as well as strengthens the defense and supports the army.
"I am convinced that we will defend our independence. Its best guarantor is our army. Every brave soldier, sergeant, and officer," the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine declared.
