Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief holds talks with Chief of Defense Staff of French Armed Forces
Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi had a telephone conversation with Chief of the General Staff of the French Armed Forces Thierry Burkhard. The topic of the conversation was the situation at the front, the needs of the Armed Forces and the shelling of Ukraine, according to the Telegram channel of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"I informed about the current strategic situation and the course of military operations on various fronts," the General Staff quoted Syryskyi.
He noted that he focused his French counterpart's attention on Russia's war crimes, including continued missile and air strikes on Ukraine's critical infrastructure, as well as indiscriminate mass attacks on civilian targets.
According to Syrskyi, the conversation also addressed the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for critical weapons, military equipment, ammunition, and supplies.
As a result of the talks, joint efforts were agreed upon to further develop Ukrainian-French military cooperation.
Additionally, Syrskyi thanked General Thierry Burkhard, the French government, and the French people for their steadfast military and political support of Ukraine.
"I expressed special gratitude for the weapons provided (especially air defense systems), military equipment, and ammunition," said the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that Syrskyi aims to extend the training period for mobilized troops. The project will start in October-November this year.
