Ukrainian athletes win two more gold medals at 2024 Paralympics
Ukraine won two more gold medals at the Paralympics in Paris. Sprinter Yuliia Shuliar and swimmer Yurii Shengur took first place.
Two medals for swimmers
Ukrainian swimmers Yurii Shengur and Andrii Trusov secured two medals in the 100-meter backstroke in the S7 class (for athletes with moderate movement impairments in arms, torso, and legs, or with height impairments or limb loss).
Shengur finished first with a time of 1:09.51 minutes, while Trusov claimed the silver with a time of 1:10.42 minutes.
This victory marked Shengur's first-place finish in his debut at the Paralympics.
Shuliar's gold
Ukrainian sprinter Yuliia Shuliar won first place in the 400-meter race in the T12 class (for athletes with visual impairments).
Shuliar finished the race in 55.16 seconds. Turkish athlete Aysel Önder took second place with a time of 55.23 seconds.
Ukraine's results at the Paralympics
Shuliar's gold marked Ukraine's 40th medal at the Paralympics.
Earlier today, September 3, athlete Oksana Boturchuk won a bronze medal in the 400-meter race at the Paralympic Games in Paris.
