On the Ukrainian front, as of the evening of July 16, 86 combat clashes were recorded during the day. Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to inflict effective fire strikes on the enemy, exhausting them across the entire front line, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The report provides operational data on the situation at the front as of 22:00 on July 16.

Enemy shelling

Russian forces conducted 3 missile strikes and 46 airstrikes across Ukrainian territory during the day, dropping 82 bombs.

Additionally, the Russian army deployed 417 kamikaze drones and carried out over 3000 shelling incidents on Ukrainian positions and civilian settlements.

Frontline situation

Military command noted that Ukrainian defenders continue to decisively repel attempts by the enemy to advance into the country's territory.

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attacked defensive positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Vovchansk and Hlyboke five times.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy conducted 10 assaults in the areas of Synkivka, Novoselivka, Pishchane, Berestove, and Andriivka. Ukrainian defenders repelled 6 attacks and are currently engaged in countering 3 ongoing assaults.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces made 6 unsuccessful attempts to attack Ukrainian positions near Nevske and Makiivka.

In the Siversk direction, the enemy advanced in the areas of Verkhniokamianske, Pivnichne, and Pereizne. Ukrainian defenders halted 8 Russian attacks, with 1 engagement still ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk direction, there are currently 2 ongoing engagements near Klishchiivka.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian units 7 times near Pivnichne, Toretsk, and New York. Ukrainian soldiers repelled 6 enemy attacks, and 1 attack is still ongoing.

At the General Staff, it was noted that Russian forces exhibited the highest activity in the Pokrovsk direction. Here, the enemy attempted 19 times to break through the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near the settlements of Vozdivizhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Kalynove, Prohres, and Novoselivka Persha. Three engagements are still ongoing.

"The enemy has suffered significant losses - today, 192 soldiers were neutralized in this direction, with 74 of them irreversibly. Additionally, one tank, two Tiger armored vehicles, two UAVs (Lancet), and one Supercam were destroyed. Moreover, one APC, one tank, two MT-LBs, and one vehicle were damaged," the General Staff reported.

In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy remains active, having attacked Ukrainian positions near Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, and Paraskevivka 17 times. According to updated information, 2 engagements are ongoing.

In the Vremivka direction, Russian forces conducted offensive actions near Vodiane and Kostiantynivka. The enemy faced failure in two engagements.

In the Prydniprovsk and Orikhiv directions, all attempts by occupiers to dislodge Ukrainian forces from their positions were unsuccessful.

In other directions, the situation has not significantly changed.

Earlier, it was reported that Russia is already losing its significant advantage in ammunition usage in the war against Ukraine.

It should be noted that yesterday, in the report dated July 15, the General Staff highlighted that the most intense situation remained in the Pokrovsk direction, with Russian forces also conducting active operations in the Kharkiv, Kurakhove, and Toretsk directions.
