Ukrainian army chief calls for increased military aid at Ramstein meeting

Ukraine needs more military aid, especially air defense systems and missiles. It also needs long-range weapons, says Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, during Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting in Ramstein.
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi calls on allies to urgently increase military support for Ukraine.
"Without weapons, financial assistance, training for our defenders, humanitarian projects, and other comprehensive support provided to Ukraine, it would be a thousand times more difficult for us to overcome the brutal Russian aggression," Syrskyi says.
He stressed that the priority remains not only the destruction of the Russian military machine, but also the continuation of reforms and the development of democratic principles in all spheres of life.
"We must protect the lives of our civilians and our soldiers. To this end, I am forced to once again call for increased assistance to Ukraine," the Commander-in-Chief adds.
In addition to air defense, Syrskyi names long-range weapons, artillery shells, armored vehicles, evacuation equipment, electronic warfare systems, radars, and unmanned systems among the most important weapons.
Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting
The Ukraine Defense Contact Group was established on April 26, 2022, to coordinate international military assistance to Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
The group's participants made a number of key decisions, thanks to which Ukraine received HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, Patriot anti-aircraft systems, Leopard 2 tanks, and other important weapons.
On July 21, another online meeting in the Ramstein format was held to discuss further support.
