Ukrainian Armed Forces switches to corps structure – General Staff

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have already completely transitioned to a corps structure. The newly formed corps is already performing combat tasks and demonstrating the first positive results, according to Major General Andrii Hnativ, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"The Armed Forces are constantly changing," Hnativ says.
He stresses that the General Staff had carried out extensive work on the simultaneous training of all 10 corps commands. The most experienced military personnel and instructors from partner countries were involved in the training.
According to Hnativ, although there are still questions regarding staffing and training, the corps is actively integrating into the military system.
The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also noted that thanks to the reform, the Russians failed to implement their plans for a rapid offensive in Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
Reforms in Armed Forces of Ukraine
Earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are undergoing reorganization to increase efficiency. This will allow for the creation of more effective reserves for counteroffensive and offensive operations.
As Syrskyi explained, as part of the reorganization, it is planned to reduce the number of management entities that are directly subordinate to a specific body (army corps). At the same time, the level of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) will remain, while the level of the Operational-Tactical Group (OTG) will be gradually eliminated.
