On the night of January 13, Russian terrorists launched another round of intense shelling against Ukraine. The air defense forces successfully intercepted and destroyed 8 missiles, according to the Telegram channel of the Air Force of Ukraine.

During the attack on Ukraine, the enemy deployed:

  • Cruise, aeroballistic, ballistic, aviation, and guided anti-aircraft missiles.
  • Strike UAVs.

A total of 40 aerial attack assets were identified, including:

  • 7 guided anti-aircraft missiles S-300/S-400 from the Belgorod region of Russia.
  • 3 strike UAVs Shahed-136/131 from the Kursk region of Russia.
  • 6 aeroballistic missiles Kh-47M2 Kinzhаl from six MiG-31K aircraft (launch area - Tambov, Russia).
  • Up to 12 cruise missiles Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 from 11 Tu-95MS strategic bombers (launch area - Caspian Sea, Russia).
  • 6 cruise missiles Kh-22 from Tu-22M3 bombers from the Bryansk region, Russia.
  • 2 guided aviation missiles Kh-31P from two Su-35 aircraft (launch area - temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region).
  • 4 guided aviation missiles Kh-59 from two Su-34 aircraft (launch area - Bryansk region, Russia).

The air defense system destroyed 8 aerial targets, including:

  • 7 cruise missiles Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55.
  • 1 guided aviation missile Kh-59.

Active countermeasures with EW (Electronic warfare) means

"More than 20 of all the mentioned air attack assets that did not make it into the statistics of downed ones did not achieve their goals due to active countermeasures with electronic warfare means," the Air Force press service reports.

Enemy missiles are becoming less effective

As noted by the Air Force, Russian missiles are becoming increasingly less effective, causing them to "fly who knows where." However, this does not mean that they do not pose a threat; quite the opposite.

"Therefore, stay vigilant, do not ignore alarms, especially with the use of ballistic weapons," the press service adds.
