Ukrainian air defenses destroyed 48 enemy missiles and nearly 800 drones over the past week, including ballistic and cruise missiles, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.

Over the past week, Ukraine’s Defense Forces' air defense units destroyed 841 targets:

  • 31 Kh-101/Kh-55SM cruise missiles;

  • 7 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles;

  • 6 Kalibr cruise missiles;

  • 4 Kh-59/69 guided air missiles;

  • 442 Shahed-type attack UAVs;

  • 114 reconnaissance drones;

  • 237 other types of UAVs.

Over the past week, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out around 160 sorties: more than 90 for fighter aviation cover and about 50 for fire missions and air support for troops.

Air Force pilots launched dozens of airstrikes on enemy positions, using various types of aerial bombs and missiles. Command posts, logistics facilities, and concentrations of enemy personnel and military equipment were targeted.

Massive attack on Ukraine on April 24

In the early hours of April 24, Russian forces launched a combined strike on Ukraine. The Russians fired 70 missiles and 145 drones. Among other weapons, ballistic missiles were used, some of which were intercepted by air defense forces.

The main target of the attack was Kyiv. The strike resulted in 12 fatalities and dozens of injuries.

There were also casualties reported in Kharkiv, as well as in the Zhytomyr, Sumy, and Khmelnytskyi regions. For more details on the aftermath of the attack, read our full report.
