Ukrainian 16-year-old gymnast Onofriichuk advances to 2024 Olympic final
Ukrainian 16-year-old gymnast Taisiia Onofriichuk has advanced to the final of the 2024 Olympics in the individual all-around rhythmic gymnastics event. The final will take place tomorrow, August 9, according to Suspilne.
Onofriichuk started with the hoop routine in the first rotation and received a score of 34.250 from the judges. This result placed her in fifth position among 24 participants.
In the ball routine, the Ukrainian gymnast earned 35.250 points, making it the second-best score in the discipline. Only the current world champion, Germany’s Darja Varfolomeev (36.450), scored higher. After the first half of the qualification, Taisiia was in third place overall.
Notably, in tomorrow’s individual all-around final, Ukraine will be represented for the eighth consecutive time. No medal round in this event has ever occurred without a Ukrainian participant.
