The investigation into the Nord Stream 2 sabotage is ongoing, with Ukrainians among those involved. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this during the Ukraine-Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) summit in Kyiv.

According to the president, Ukraine has never officially participated in any operation related to the sabotage of Nord Stream 2. An investigation is currently underway, involving charges and relevant witnesses.

As Zelenskyy put it, "the question is not who wants what," but this is a process that is currently underway.

He also emphasized that Ukraine has discussed the issue with Germany at a high level, and this was not the first time.

The president noted that Ukraine's partners know well that it was not behind either the planning or execution of the operation and had nothing to do with it. There are details surrounding what happened and where citizens, including Ukrainians, are involved; an investigation is ongoing. He believes that all relevant findings will emerge in due course.

Ukraine is willing to cooperate

Zelenskyy assures that Ukraine is always ready to help its partners and is already doing so. The Prosecutor General's Office and the Foreign Ministry are handling the matter, while contacts are ongoing.

The president stressed that it is important for Ukraine not to lose its partnerships and the trust of European countries that have supported it since the beginning of the war. Therefore, Ukraine is open to joint efforts in investigating and establishing all the circumstances surrounding the events.

As previously reported, a Ukrainian citizen was recently detained in Croatia in connection with the Nord Stream sabotage case.

The individual is believed to be Volodymyr Zhuravliov, for whom Germany issued an arrest warrant in June 2024.
