Ukraine has developed a unique underwater drone, the Sea Trident, capable of covertly striking strategic targets at great distances. This development could radically alter the balance of power in the Black Sea, according to the Militarnyi portal.
The Ukrainian company Global Mark presented its development at a prestigious defense exhibition in France. The Sea Trident vehicle has been adapted for operations requiring complete autonomy.
The drone operates underwater, making it nearly invisible to enemy radar. Its primary objective is covert penetration into enemy maritime zones.
The Sea Trident is capable of carrying payloads weighing up to 1,000 kg. This allows it to be used as a powerful weapon against large ships or coastal infrastructure.
The device’s capabilities are not limited to explosions. The developers have envisioned a wide range of applications for the technology.
The Sea Trident’s primary missions include:
- Conducting precision strike operations
- Logistics and delivery of special cargo
- Intercepting enemy submarines
- Neutralizing underwater threats.

The drone is equipped with fully autonomous control systems. It features adaptive navigation, allowing the vehicle to chart its own course and make decisions while performing its mission.
Sea Trident technical specifications and range
The Sea Trident’s specifications set it apart from its counterparts. The vehicle has an enormous range of 3,218 kilometers (2,000 miles). This capability allows for ultra-long-duration missions without the need for additional support vessels.
Key project specifications:
- Vehicle weight – 10,000 kg
- Hull length – 10 meters
- Width – 2 meters
- Height – 1.5 meters.
The drone moves quite fast for an underwater vehicle. Its maximum speed is 18.5 km/h, while its cruising speed is slightly lower—11 km/h.
The underwater drone operates at depths of up to 60 meters, an optimal range for effective operation in coastal areas. Thanks to these parameters, the drone can remain invisible to surveillance systems designed to detect surface targets.
Ukrainian drones
A special Wardog TRN drone may soon appear on the front lines. It was created to solve a critical problem: ensuring stable radio communication, telemetry, and video streaming in areas where powerful enemy jammers are active or where complex terrain poses an obstacle.
Ukraine has also developed an interceptor drone with a top speed of over 450 km/h. It is called the Dancer 4.5.0, has a maximum target engagement altitude of up to 4.8 km, and an operational range of up to 30 km.
