Russian forces are attacking Ukraine with Shahed kamikaze drones. Launches were carried out simultaneously from several directions, according to the Ukrainian Air Force and the Air Raid Alert Map of Ukraine.

The first drones entered Ukraine’s airspace around midnight from Russia’s Kursk region toward the north of the Sumy region, as well as from the temporarily occupied Luhansk region toward the Kharkiv region.

As of 01:24 AM Kyiv time, Russian drones were moving in the following directions:

  • several groups in the western and central Sumy region heading toward the Chernihiv region;

  • several groups in the central Chernihiv region are heading toward the Kyiv region;

  • in the southern Chernihiv region heading toward the Cherkasy region;

  • several groups in the central and southern Kharkiv region are heading southwest.

At 01:45 AM Kyiv time, the military reported the movement of Shahed drone groups from the north and east toward Kyiv.

Monitoring channels reported that, as of 01:44 AM Kyiv time, around 30 strike UAVs were flying over Ukraine.

At 02:13 AM Kyiv time, an air raid alert was declared in the city of Kyiv.

Russian strikes

On May 14, air raid alerts were declared across several Ukrainian regions due to a ballistic missile threat.

Later, an explosion was reported in Sumy. Russian forces targeted an industrial infrastructure facility. The attack resulted in casualties and injuries.

Overnight, Russia launched more than 100 Shahed attack drones and a ballistic missile at Ukraine.

In particular, in the Rivne region, the attack damaged civilian infrastructure and caused injuries.
