The number of people killed as a result of the Russian missile strike on an industrial facility in Sumy on May 14 has risen to three, according to the Facebook page of the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov.

"As a result of the Russian attack on an industrial facility in the Sumy community, three people were killed," Hryhorov reported.

According to him, one man died at the scene. Another, who was in critical condition, did not make it to the hospital. The third victim died while receiving medical treatment.

The deceased were 36, 29, and 41 years old.

"In connection with the tragedies that occurred on May 12 and 14, 2025, as a result of the enemy attack on the city of Sumy, May 15 has been declared a Day of Mourning in the Sumy community," said the acting mayor of Sumy, Artem Kobzar.

Russian strike on Sumy on May 14

Earlier today, May 14, an air raid alert was declared in several regions of Ukraine. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned of the threat of ballistic missile attacks in the areas where the alert had been announced.

During the alert, an explosion was heard in Sumy. Later, acting mayor of Sumy Artem Kobzar confirmed that the explosion was the result of a Russian strike on an industrial infrastructure facility.

Previously, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that two people had been killed and nine others injured in the attack.
