Ukraine to receive UK license to produce Stone Cloak EW system: What it can do

Ukraine will receive a license from the UK to manufacture the Stone Cloak electronic warfare system, according to the official website of the UK government.
"Britain stands with Ukraine, shoulder to shoulder, and our support remains unwavering. Stone Cloak is the best of homegrown British innovation and proven on the frontline, and it will be vital to protecting our security in both our countries," UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham said.
Following its deployment in Ukraine, the Stone Cloak technology is set to be integrated into the next generation of British long-range strike systems.
In particular, the system will be incorporated into the Brakestop project, a new low-cost British cruise missile. The move is expected to strengthen the national security of both countries and enhance the effectiveness of precision-guided weapons.
What is Stone Cloak?
Stone Cloak is a British electronic warfare (EW) system designed to protect drones.
Roughly the size of a tablet, the device is mounted directly onto a drone. It generates electronic interference that makes it more difficult for air defense systems to detect, track, and engage the aircraft.
The UK government has not disclosed Stone Cloak's technical specifications — such as its operating frequencies, power output, or exact operating principles — for security reasons.
According to the British government, thousands of these modules have already been delivered to Ukraine and are being used on the battlefield. Once intellectual property rights are transferred, Ukraine will be able to launch serial production and further improve the system based on combat experience.
As reported earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the UK's new prime minister during his visit to Britain today.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed Ukraine's defense needs. According to Zelenskyy, the development of joint defense production was a key topic of the talks.
