Ukraine will receive about 3 billion euros in additional military aid from the European Union next week, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The president noted that he spoke by phone with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen today.
The talks focused on all possible measures to strengthen Ukraine.
"I thanked Ursula for the recent €1.24 billion tranche for defense, which Ukraine has already received. I am grateful for the confirmation that another approximately €3 billion in military support will be allocated as early as next week. These funds will strengthen us," Zelenskyy wrote on X.
The head of state also said he briefed the European Commission chief on Russia's latest attacks. On October 11, Russia struck a power plant in Kyiv with a drone, causing power outages in many parts of the capital.
"Later, there were strikes on energy facilities in the Kharkiv region. And all of this happened AFTER the President of the United States made his statement about an energy ceasefire. Under these circumstances, reliable support from our partners means real protection for people's lives and a guarantee that the Russians will not be able to break Ukraine," the president stressed.
As previously reported, Zelenskyy responded to Trump's announcement of an "energy ceasefire" between Ukraine and Russia.
He also set a clear condition for holding elections during the war.
