Ukraine is preparing to open one of its first offices in the German capital, which will focus on weapons exports and joint production projects, stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the closing of the German-Ukrainian Economic Forum in Berlin.

The President emphasized the importance of Ukraine not only seeking aid and support during the war but also offering joint projects and production, particularly in defense manufacturing.

"We are doing everything possible to ensure that our defense technologies stay ahead and deliver practical results for our soldiers on the battlefield. And here in Berlin, we are preparing one of the first offices that will focus on weapons exports and joint production projects with Germany," Zelenskyy said.

He noted that Germany is one of Ukraine's largest trading partners in Europe and expressed confidence that this will continue.

"This is one of the government's key objectives - more contracts with Germany. This not only unites our economies but also lays the foundation for even closer cooperation within the European Union,” the Ukrainian President added.

Ukraine-Germany cooperation

Earlier, Germany developed a 10-point plan to strengthen cooperation with Ukraine in the defense industry, which has already been presented to Zelenskyy.

The German plan envisions closer collaboration in defense research, joint ventures, and procurement. Berlin is also considering the use of federal investment guarantees.

Germany will explore the possibility of jointly purchasing Ukrainian-made defense products to protect NATO airspace, including interceptor drones.
