Ukraine to develop AI predicting Russian moves

The A1 Artificial Intelligence Center under the Ministry of Defense is developing the SPECTR AI platform, which will analyze combat data and generate recommendations for operational planning. Several combat units are already testing the solution, according to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Less routine work in command centers
SPECTR is designed to take over part of the daily work of command centers: processing information, identifying patterns, and generating recommendations. In particular, the platform will help select effective courses of action and predict the enemy's possible moves.
Importantly, the system will operate within the Defense Forces' existing digital solutions, and the data will remain in a secure environment. Testing is underway in several combat units.
Who is behind development
The platform is being developed by the A1 Artificial Intelligence Center, founded by the Ministry of Defense in March 2026 with support from the British government. This is part of a broader effort to enhance the Ukrainian military with artificial intelligence to enable faster data-driven decision-making, increase the effectiveness of weapons systems, and reduce bureaucracy.
The Ministry of Defense has granted Ukrainian defense companies access to the Avengers Labs platform to train AI models for drones using real battlefield data: the platform is based on a dataset of 5 million frames collected by the DELTA combat system, which has already been used to train an automatic target detection system.
Ukrainian drones have learned to bypass Russian electronic warfare systems using artificial intelligence: the technology allows the drone to autonomously lock onto a target and complete guidance even without a stable radio link to the operator.
