The government has allowed drone and electronic warfare equipment manufacturers to include up to 10% of loan expenses in the price of state contracts. This decision aims to reduce financial pressure on enterprises and stimulate the development of Ukrainian weapons production, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko and Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal report.

"We support the increase in domestic weapons production. At the request of drone and electronic warfare manufacturers, the government has allowed the inclusion of loan expenses in the price of state contracts, up to 10% of production cost. This will help defense enterprises grow and ease their financial burden," Svyrydenko said.

Meanwhile, Shmyhal stated that a meeting was held last week with Ukrainian banks to boost financing of the defense industry.

"The first results are already here. Today, the government, at the request of the Ministry of Defense, allowed drone and electronic warfare manufacturers to include loan interest in the production cost," Ukraine's Defense Minister noted.

According to Shmyhal, this new financial mechanism will enable Ukrainian manufacturers to produce weapons and technologies more, faster, and more efficiently.

"We are scaling up our defense industry. We're bringing in more resources. The result - millions of Ukrainian drones for the front line. We are building the strength that will stop the aggressor and secure lasting peace," Ukraine's Defense Minister emphasized.

Earlier today, Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk said that Ukraine is preparing an agreement under which it will sell domestically developed drones to the US instead of purchasing the latest American weapons.

At the same time, the Ministry of Defense recently reported that Ukraine is rapidly increasing the procurement of domestic weapon models.

Shmyhal himself stated back on July 23 that Ukraine had already signed four contracts worth over 3 billion hryvnias. These contracts involve the supply of interceptor drones.
