On the night of June 30, Ukrainian drones launched a second strike on the Dubna space communications center in the Moscow region, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
What is known about the facility
"This is a special satellite communications facility used, in particular, for reconnaissance and for coordinating the activity of Russia’s occupation contingent in Ukraine," the head of state says.
The distance from Ukraine’s state border to this facility is over 500 kilometers.
Not the first strike
Zelenskyy notes that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had previously struck four similar Russian communications centers. The strikes were carried out not only in the Moscow region but also in the Vladimir region of Russia.
"Step by step, we are implementing our plan of long-range sanctions and making it as difficult as possible for the aggressor state to carry out its invasion operations against Ukraine and the occupation of our territories," the President states.
According to him, corresponding actions are being prepared against other similar Russian facilities as well.

Attacks on Moscow region
On the night of June 30, the Moscow region came under a massive drone attack.
Footage began appearing on social media showing residents filming drones flying in the region toward the Russian capital.
The first strike on the Dubna space communications center was reported on June 22.
At that time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that this facility in the Moscow region had been struck, specifically the hardware-modular complex of the 32-meter Mark-IV antenna, which is used for satellite communications, and a technical building adjacent to the antenna.
