On the night of June 5, Ukrainian drones attacked five vessels in the ports of Mariupol, Berdiansk, and in the coastal waters of Crimea, according to the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert 'Madya' Brovdi.
The strike hit cargo ships and tankers in the ports of Mariupol and Berdiansk, as well as in the coastal waters of temporarily occupied Crimea.
All the targets had one thing in common: painted-over names and turned-off radars.
The vessels were transporting:
- Grain from occupied territories;
- Fuel;
- Military cargo.
To avoid detection, the ships’ names were painted over, and transponders and radars were switched off.
“The birds of the 1 OC SBS (drones of the Unmanned Systems Forces - ed.) politely visited the cargo ships and a tanker. Good optics, heavy 100-kilogram arguments. More to come,” wrote Madyar.
Meanwhile, Ukraine's drone forces continue to systematically destroy the Russian fleet. On June 4, drones struck a Russian Svetlyak-class patrol ship in Crimea and several other enemy targets.
On June 3, the SBS struck the corvette Boykiy in Kronstadt near St. Petersburg. The distance from the Ukrainian border was about 1,100 kilometers.
