Ukraine has begun detailed negotiations with Denmark to conclude bilateral security commitments, reports the President's Office.

The talks began as part of the implementation of the G7 Joint Declaration of Support for Ukraine, which Denmark, along with the Nordic countries, was one of the first to join.

The Ukrainian delegation was headed by Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva, and the Danish delegation was headed by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lisbeth Zilmer-Jones.

The parties discussed the main elements of future bilateral security commitments and agreed on a schedule for further talks.

"Denmark's security commitments confirm the unwavering and powerful support, including military assistance, which it has provided to our country since the beginning of Russian aggression," the statement said.

Ukraine's security agreements

Ukraine is currently negotiating security agreements with a number of countries. In particular, the list includes the United States, Canada, Romania, France, Germany, and Italy.

On January 12, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak signed a historic security cooperation agreement with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. It has already entered into force and will be in effect for 10 years.

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said that Paris was finalizing negotiations with Ukraine on security commitments.
