In the southeastern part of the village of Hryshyne in the Donetsk region, small arms battles are ongoing. Ukraine’s Defense Forces are actively destroying the enemy with support from UAV units and artillery, according to the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

"Attempting to intensify the offensive in the Pokrovsk agglomeration, Russian forces are increasing the amount of long-range artillery in the area of responsibility of the 7th Rapid Response Corps. The enemy is hiding artillery both in forest belts and within private residential areas," the statement said.

It is noted that the Defense Forces are detecting and destroying enemy artillery. Over the past day alone, Ukrainian defenders damaged and destroyed five Russian artillery units in the areas of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad.

"Despite constant pressure from the enemy, units within the area of responsibility of the 7th Rapid Response Corps continue to hold positions in the northern part of Pokrovsk," the statement added.

Defense Forces units have forced the enemy to slow its advance, prompting Russian troops to intensify activity toward Hryshyne and Rodynske. In the southeastern part of Hryshyne, small arms fighting continues. Ukrainian defenders are operating with active support from UAV units and artillery.

At the same time, the Russian army is unsuccessfully deploying additional assault groups to put pressure on Hryshyne, including using motorcycles.

Situation around Hryshyne

The village of Hryshyne, part of the Pokrovsk community, is located less than 10 kilometers from Pokrovsk. It remains one of the enemy’s priority targets in the Pokrovsk direction. Capturing the village would allow Russian forces to significantly complicate the logistics of Ukrainian forces in the area.

According to Ukrainian defenders, the enemy is attempting to break into the central part of Hryshyne, attacking Ukrainian positions simultaneously from the northern and southern flanks.

Last month, the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces reported that despite a difficult operational situation, Ukraine’s Defense Forces are successfully holding back the Russian army within the Pokrovsk agglomeration.
