Ukraine signs key defense memorandum with IRIS-T manufacturer

Ukraine has signed a memorandum of understanding with Diehl Defence, the manufacturer of the IRIS-T system, which plays a crucial role in Ukraine's air defense shield, reports the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
“Protecting the Ukrainian sky and cities is our priority. The signed agreement paves the way for large industrial projects that will strengthen Ukraine’s air defense capabilities,” said Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.

He noted that the memorandum also includes a threefold increase in the supply of missiles and air defense systems.
“Thank you to Diehl Defence for their trust and willingness to cooperate. It is important that leading global defense companies are stepping forward to support Ukraine. The free world is on our side, and together, we are unlocking new opportunities to strengthen our defense,” emphasized the minister.
Umerov concluded that the Ministry of Defense continues to develop Ukraine's defense industry and integrate it into the European ecosystem.
Additionally, Umerov recently announced that the Netherlands would provide Ukraine with financial aid for drones. Currently, the aid amounts to 700 million euros.
We also reported that Ukraine recently signed one of the largest security agreements in its history.
