Ukraine will receive Ermine tactical buggies. The contract was signed during the NATO summit, and the first deliveries are expected in 2026, according to a press release from Rheinmetall.

The Netherlands will finance the production of Ermine buggies for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which will be manufactured by the German defense company Rheinmetall.

The agreement was signed on June 24 during the NATO summit in The Hague. The order will be fulfilled by Rheinmetall Defence Nederland, a subsidiary of Rheinmetall. Deliveries of the new equipment are expected in 2026.

According to the company, the Ermine is a new generation of lightweight tactical vehicles primarily designed for evacuation operations close to the front lines. These mobile platforms enable the rapid and efficient transport of the wounded, operating effectively in the harsh conditions of combat.

Ukraine will become the first country in the world to receive the Ermine buggies. Rheinmetall emphasizes that this new equipment will significantly enhance the mobility and operational capabilities of units operating in the most dangerous zones.

This is another example of defense support for Ukraine from its allies, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in strengthening Ukraine’s defense capacity amid the prolonged war with Russia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has outlined what Europe must do to help Ukraine achieve victory.

Back in 2024, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin continues to count on the West abandoning Ukraine, which he believes would help the Kremlin achieve its military objectives.
