Ukraine signs ammunition production agreement with US defense giant (president.gov.ua)
The Ukrainian state-owned company Ukroboronprom has signed an agreement with the American company Northrop Grumman to establish a new production line for medium-caliber ammunition in accordance with NATO standards, citing the Office of the President.
According to the office, the agreement was signed in Washington in the presence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Prospects for joint defense production were also discussed, including ammunition, air defense systems, guns, armored vehicles, drones, and the repair and maintenance of military equipment.
"We are extremely grateful for your cooperation and assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war. You have greatly helped us to defend our freedom, democracy, our people, our families and children," Zelenskyy said.
Previously, RBC-Ukraine reported that in May, a German conglomerate announced the opening of a joint air defense production facility in Ukraine. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense stated that one production line is already operational.
Additionally, this summer, Ukroboronprom and Rheinmetall opened the first workshop for the repair and production of armored vehicles.
